This is a personal blog where I’m sharing my thoughts, experiences, and observations along with bits and pieces of insight.
Being a personal blog and not an e-commerce blog, I am not linked to the sale of any goods or services. I’m simply sharing who I am, where I’m coming from and where I hope to go.
I hope this site is entertaining, informative, and maybe even inspirational on the off chance that little gems of wisdom make it in here.
I would love it if a fun, sharing community is formed through this blog. So, if what you see here resonates with you, please jump onboard with your comments and suggestions. I will respond to each one.
What This Blog Is About
And Life Goes On

About the Writer

I am 75 years old. I grew up in Oregon, and after a 50-year absence, I have returned to the Pacific Northwest. I brought my grown daughter with me, and we are exploring this amazing part of the country together.
Even on a simple ride in the country, she sees things I don’t see, and I see things she doesn’t see. Together we have a lot to share. Living with her never gets old, annoying sometimes, but never old.
I am a history buff – especially local history. I like to bring it alive by adding the human element of firsthand experiences that are found in diaries, letters, and oral histories. I merge the facts that are recorded in official records with these firsthand documents.
In my seven plus decades of living, life has thrown me a few curve balls. I have prided myself on turning them into homeruns with my positive, can-do attitude.
For me, a major component laying the groundwork for this can-do attitude is humor. I love to laugh, and looking at my own mistakes has given me lots of reasons to laugh – especially at myself. After a good laugh, my head is clear, I am no longer down on myself for yet another screw up, and then I’m ready to move forward once again.
Writing this blog is my way of balancing my life, of bringing myself back into the present after spending hours buried in researching the distant past.
As my journey continues, I’m excited about sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly of my everyday life with my readers. Well, maybe not the ugly – I’ll think about that.
Meanwhile, I expect the good and the bad as observed both inwardly and outwardly will make for interesting, possibly insightful, and yes, probably funny commentary. Please join me on this journey.
I look forward to sharing it with you.
